The Blonde Cookie, Thanks!Update (due to developer’s response):Thanks for being responsive to your users. It’s nice that you take the time and trouble to reply reviews; many other app developers just move past such things. I do greatly appreciate the intuitive manner in which the app is presented, for ease of use. After reconsidering my previous rating, the overall app is excellent.
I hinged too much weight on the search function. Just because one area isn’t 100%, doesn’t mean the entirety of the app is poorly constructed.
And the 3 stars was to get you to notice my comment. Five star rating is what the app deserves overall. And if you could get Priscilla Shirer’s book, (due to be released soon) in with her other books, that would be super. Thanks again for being an awesome team! ?—————————-Well dang. Just completed the download (3.7.1), and am a little disappointed.
The search function isn’t the best. Tried looking up Priscilla Shirer’s new book “Radiant: Who God Says You Are,” due out next month. No show on your app. Also have had trouble in the past looking up “authors like (blank author).” Seems to work better online, which then directs me to the Goodreads app (which then opens the app).
It’d be nice if I could lose that middle step, but it’s not the end of life. And, perhaps I’m doing it wrong. It can be done, apparently, I just don’t have it dialed in yet. Keep up the good work! Gave you 3 stars so maybe you’d see this.
? Developer Response,Hi there, sorry to hear you're not enjoying the app. We'll consider your comments here as we continue to improve it. Feedback like yours helps us know where to focus our resources. Momma Flan, Perfect for book lovers or casual readers.I usually never write reviews, but my life as a reader was totally changed after finding this app. I love books and always have, but life keeps you busy and you end up putting things aside. Well, this app has helped me find so many books I NEED to read, and it has helped me rediscover my love for reading! I really can’t think of anything to improve.
I love the layout. I love the ability to make “shelves” to save books.
It even lets you track the progress of books you’re reading. You can read your friends reviews or any reviews in general. I also love that they have a vote at the end of the year (or beginning, I can’t remember) for best books in SEVERAL genres and also have best of the best and whatnot.
Browsing books by categories is also great because it’s helping me find different kinds of books so my reading list can be more diverse. The only complaint I have (which actually isn’t a real complaint) is that every time I click on this app, I find a million more books I want to read and there’s no way I can read them all in my lifetime. SJRez, Social Media for NerdsI love Goodreads. I have been using the site and app for many years. I love that I can keep track of the books I am reading and want to read.
I love that I can see the books that my friends are reading and send them messages and comments based on their reading habits. I also appreciate that good reads includes multiple versions of the book in case you want to be very specific about which copy you read (nerd alert).
Since I read so many books through my local library I really enjoy being able to see the covers of the books I have completed even though I do not own every book.I have ONE request: PLEASE let me give ratings with half (or quarter) stars!!! Because I have a very restrictive number of stars, I struggle with what to rate books. I frequently go back to my shelves and think that I really did love that one book I read six years ago because I gave it four stars, but really I wish I could’ve given it 3.5 (which in my mind is a dramatically different rating). I know many people have “shortcut” this by adding their real rating in the comments, but it would be nice for this app to have a more intuitive rating system.

A application from Amazon, Goodreads is set to allow individuals to easily search a huge database of books, reviews, and annotations.Users can register or sign up to generate library catalogs and reading lists for different books. Moreover, they can create their own groups of surveys, polls, book suggestions, blogs, and discussions.Headquartered in San Francisco, Goodreads primarily serves as a website, created manually by a software engineer and entrepreneur: Otis Chandler. It was launched back in 2006 and received an upgrade by Elizabeth Khuri Chandler, as well.By July 2019, the site’s official app on the Google Play Store is reported to have over 10 million downloads that are still booming.
Sorry if someone has asked this already but I've searched everywhere and can't find an answer.I don't necessarily want samples of these books downloaded onto my Kindle. How do I control this?EDIT: I got my answer after I emailed Amazon Support and Goodreads. Amazon said there was no way to disable this but the rep at Goodreads said that this can only be done by unlinking then linking the Kindle again. So for anyone else who wants to know - she provided the following instructions:If you'd like to visit the 'Download Free Samples' screen, follow these steps:. From Home, tap the Menu icon (three lines), and then tap Settings. Tap Reading Options, and then tap Social Networks.
Tap Goodreads. Select UnlinkNext, link your Kindle from the same page by following the on-screen prompts until you reach the 'Download Free Samples' screen, where you tap 'Deselect All'.
